OPEN AGE SIGNING ON
Signing on for Open Age players
will take place on the following evenings in July:
Wednesday 9th July and Wednesday 16th July. Signing on sessions start at 8pm
and will be held in the bar area of Thornhill Sports & Community Centre.
Signing on papers will be available on these evenings for existing and new
players. |
TROJANS APPOINT NEW CHAIRMAN
Thornhill Trojans have appointed Alan Oldfield as their new
Chairman. Ged Brentnall becomes Vice-Chairman. Andrew Byram becomes
Treasurer, whilst former Dewsbury Rams director Tim Robson become
1st Team Fixtures Secretary. Wayne Nicholson continues to be 'A'
Team Fixtures Secretary and John Redgwick remains as President. Paul
Hutton remains as Youth Secretary and John Drake is Junior
Secretary. Richard Tuner, Richard Butterworth and Pat Kane as joined
on the Committee by Clare Barber.

Thornhill Trojans v Great Britain
Rugby League Legends
On Saturday 5th July 2008 Thornhill Trojans will take on a team of
Great Britain Rugby League Legends. The Great Britain Legends have
assembled a formidable squad to take on the Trojans in a game that
will be played in Overthorpe Park with a 2:30pm kick off. The
Legends are coached by Gary Schofield and will be captained by Tommy

SERBIAN TRIALIST LOOKING FOR
ACCOMMODATION
Thornhill Trojans have invited a Serbian International Rugby League
player over to this Country for trials with them next season.
Thornhill Trojans are interested to find out if any of their
supporters know of anyone who would be able to accommodate the
player whilst he is in this country. Anyone who feels they may be
able to assist the club in this matter is urged to contact the club

Longdyke Lane Ground, 9 players per squad, Registration 10am, Kick
Off 12pm, £15 per team.
Kippax are planning a special day of fun with bouncy castles, face
painting, barbecue, raffles and a giant beer tent to keep all the
family happy. |
PRE SEASON TRAINING
Preseason training starts for Thornhill Trojans on Monday the 9th June in
Overthorpe Park. All players old and new are welcome to attend. Trojans new
head Coach Robin Jowitt would like all players to arrive at 6:45 for a 7pm
start.
Please note that all Under 18's players are also invited to take part with
the preseason training with the senior squads. |
FUNDRAISING DAY
On Sunday 22nd June the club is holding a fund raising day at the
Centre. The purpose of the day is to raise funds to help with the
redecoration and renovation of the Centre. The focal point of the
day will be a sponsored walk of 6 miles. There will be a shorter
walk for Juniors to take part in. Anyone wishing to take part in the
walk and help raise funds is asked to contact the Centre any evening

JOWITT CONFIRMED AS TROJANS
NEW COACH
Thornhill Trojans have appointed Robin Jowitt as their new head coach for
the forthcoming 2008/09 season. Robin is a former professional player
with Dewsbury Rams, Gateshead Thunder and Featherstone Rovers. He has
previously been an assistant coach at Thornhill and last season coached the
clubs Under 18's team. |
